Rum Fish Grill
The St. Pete Beach based Restaurant was created, not only to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, but also to educate the guests about the importance of sustainable fisheries in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. This educational experience is showcased by a 33,500-gallon saltwater aquarium that occupies an entire wall in the main dining area, which was constructed by the stars of the TV series “Tanked”. Besides the experience of dining next to snapper, grouper, stingrays and other indigenous salt water life, guests can snorkel inside the giant tank.
This building was originally a convention center and was gutted to create the 13,000 square foot restaurant. Included in this design is a 150-seat bar area that can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen design itself was kept behind the scenes to allow guests to fully engulf themselves into an underwater experience. Throughout the dining area, the circular and wave-like features help to portray the concept of what life is like at sea.
